Beryl on Debian

I found a 1.7Ghz Xeon box in the pile of comps, added an extra 40gb and an nVidia Corporation NV15BR [GeForce2 Ultra, Bladerunner] rev 164
what was in a 1.5ghz P4. I hope the Xeon is a better choice.
I'm gonna stripe the two 40gbs that were in it already.

So I want stick Beryl on it, it's been a buzz around and I need something to show off with in the office, plan9 looks just a little bit boring.

So, here we go :

1. Install Nvidia binary blob for OpenGL
http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/100.14.11/README/appendix-a.html

That page says I need version 1.0-7185

Following these instructions

http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_ia32_1.0-7185.html

But now I have to drop out of X

while I was there I ended up installing gnome *sigh*
http://technowizah.com/2007/02/debian-how-to-aiglx-beryl.html

to get me started, hope I get get it going for 9wm !

Seems to be installed, icon is displayed when it starts up, I'll give it a play when I have time.

I really don't like Gnome
